Riyadh: The Public Transport Authority has recently uncovered a staggering 81 educational transportation violations. Offenders will face hefty fines ranging from 500 to 5,000 riyals. Notably, a fine of 2,000 riyals will be imposed on drivers caught using mobile phones or eating while operating a vehicle.

The attached table of violations and penalties outlines the consequences for various infringements related to educational transportation activities. Punishments include penalties of 5,000 riyals for practicing the activity without the necessary licenses or permits, as well as fines of 4,000 riyals for operating without a sub-license. Additionally, penalties of 5,000 riyals will be imposed for practicing with a canceled or expired license/permit.

It is essential for drivers and chaperones to be aware of their responsibilities, as the regulations set out fines of 500 riyals for smoking inside the vehicle or allowing passengers to do so. Furthermore, penalties of 1,000 riyals will be enforced for failure to ensure passenger seating and safety.

Other notable violations include charging fines for drivers' failure to perform vehicle safety inspections, ignorance of dashboard indicators, and driving with warning signs jeopardizing the safety of the vehicle. Penalties will also be imposed for neglecting passenger boarding procedures, leaving passengers stranded, and using a mobile phone or eating while driving.

The regulations emphasize the importance of adhering to public morals, good treatment of passengers, and maintaining proper cleanliness and appearance standards. Failure to comply will result in fines ranging from 500 to 1,000 riyals.

Transportation providers are bound by further obligations, such as ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, equipping vehicles with approved safety requirements, and promptly providing alternative vehicles in case of breakdowns. Violations related to these requirements carry penalties ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 riyals.

The Public Transport Authority emphasizes the need for all educational transportation providers to fully comply with the regulations.
